Patchwork quilts were originally made from scraps of fabric cut from clothes and worn household linens. Women stitched them to celebrate marriages, welcome new babies, to give as gifts and above all to keep their families warm at night. Designs were inspired by the world around them .They told the story of their lives as pioneer families and have names such as log cabin, lone star, wagon wheel and bear's claw.

Using cotton fabrics the patchwork 'tops 'are pieced and sewn using a sewing machine. Reused and vintage fabrics are included in many quilts. The 'wadding' middle layer is polyester cotton for ease of washing but 100% cotton can be used on request. The 'back' layer is 100% cotton fabric unless stated otherwise. The quilts are finished by hand and each one is unique. A child's name can be added if wished.

Vintage Look Baby Quilt This quilt is 100% cotton and has been made using unshrunk wadding. The whole quilt is then washed to give a crinkled vintage feel. The fabrics are 1950's style with teddies and 'Mabel Lucy Atwell' children and pixies on the red, yellow and pink squares. The backing fabric is yellow.
